Captain of the
Cloven Nemesis
|
Baron Ronan Lynceus, Captain
|
Our Captain has several things within the SCA that keep him busy.
The first is Fencing. He is a Captain of Fence, in the East
Kingdom League of Rapier
Academies. He is currently a Rapier Marshal for the Canton of Forestgate in the Barony of Carillion.
With what time may be left over he is learning to fight heavy weapons, as well as occasionally
playing with thrown weapons. While there are no pictures of the Captain in his fine
new armor, he does encourage you to take a look at some of the fine work that has
been done by Olaf of the Armoury of Westlig Stjerne.
|
In addition to Fencing, he has devoted a large part of his time to doing web development
for various groups within the SCA. Formerly web minister to the
Canton of Forestgate, Barony of Carillion, and East Kingdoms, he is
currently the SCA Society Web Minister. As such he oversees the Kingdom
Web Ministers, and maintains Society Web Policies as a deputy to the
Society Chronicler. He is also
responsible for a large ammount of the content on this site, especially the historical reference research.

The Captain also enjoys, playing middle eastern drum for belly dancers, has been known
to be seen dancing a variety of english country dances, and has lately given in to
learning to sew his own clothing. There is a distinct shortage of fine tailors at sea you know,
so you either get clothes given to you off the backs of those you capture or you learn to
make your own.

It should also be mentioned that several years ago, the Captain rescued a large white wolf (a Samoyed),
hereby known within the East Kingdom as Eiswulfe (mka Chelsea). She is officially the Captain's
guard dog, though the most ferocity she ever shows is in deciding which side of the cabin to sleep.

Okay, finally, the one thing this good lady would rather not likely find, is
that I have been keeping a picture of her in my journal. But this is the
beautiful Brit of Clan Mackinnon. (Brit, if ever you need, just call, and I'll be there.)
My True pirate name is:
Captain James Rackham
Even though there's no legal rank on a pirate ship, everyone recognizes you're the one in charge. You have the
good fortune of having a good name, since Rackham (pronounced RACKem, not rack-ham) is one of the coolest sounding
surnames for a pirate. Arr!
But these few tidbits of information are only for the few who have been able to find this easter egg of
information.
